Homebase creates house from 20foot shipping containers

By on Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Earlier this week Leo Burnett London launched a new multimillion pound campaign for Homebase by building a house made entirely out of 20foot shipping containers. Soft launched on Facebook, via a tab that allowed consumers to exclusively view the ad before it aired on TV that evening, the creative cuts-through the usual DIY campaigns and is a new direction for the home improvement genre (excluding IKEA which regularly pulls it out of the bag).

The ad creatively conveys how Homebase can personalise your own space and the subsequent behind the scenes footage and interior inspiration posts on Facebook perfectly continues the dialogue.

Fifty containers were used in the transformation of a ten story 'home', which includes three gardens, three kitchens, multiple living rooms, a bedroom and a bathroom.
