Toy train firm bids for troubled West Coast rail franchise and receives this DfT response…

I spotted this a couple of days ago but, as I was without my laptop and therefore a means of posting it, thought I’d simply do it as soon as I could, for completeness/to ensure it was catalogued on the site, more than anything.

As you may have read, wooden toy company BigJigs offered to take over the troubled West Coast rail (UK) franchise. They sent this following letter and although I’m sure they hoped for a response, probably didn’t imagine they’d ever receive one:

A few months after sending it off, the toy company received the following response:

 

I’m sure you’ll agree, a great response from the DfT to a hopeful and brilliantly cheeky PR effort that, all in all, probably cost BigJigs the price of a stamp.
