Billboard + Moon = Corona with Lunar Lime Wedge!

Beer brand Corona Extra, in partnership with ad agency Cramer-Krasselt, incorporated the moon into their billboard in a unique advertising and PR campaign called Luna Corona.

The brand worked with top universities and planetariums to gauge the precise moment and calculate the angle when the moon moves at the right place to appear like the slice of lime on top of the illustrated bottle on the billboard.

Luna Corona happened on June 14th and 15th 2013 at 15th Street and 19th Avenue in downtown New York.

A clever piece of Marketing combining a range of marketing vehicles: nice advertising, ingenious media buying space, good video and digital content and great PR and communications.

Corona will have managed to get into innovation, science and technology media with this simple but highly effective idea…without even having to change the product itself! As well as generating online and social media coverage, this also worked as a great out of home marketing piece – with people coming specially to see the billboard and wait for the spectacle.
