MINI explode airbags on unsuspecting women in controversial stunt

Shock tactics are a guaranteed way to get attention, but how far is too far? MINI Mexico trod a dangerous line when they installed an exploding airbag in female toilets, although given they were warning about road deaths, they might have just got away with it.

Unsuspecting women topped up their make up in front of the bathroom mirror, not realising that the soap dispensers had been hijacked to contain airbags. The airbag burst out in front of them, carrying the message, “There’s a place for everything. Makeup or drive.”

You could argue that the stunt was potentially dangerous, but I suppose it’s this very element that drives home the brand’s message. I’m sure any women caught out in the stunt, and indeed those watching, would think twice before applying lipstick on the road again.
