Namco Bandai and Channel 5’s The Gadget Show partnered this week to promote the return of arcade classic Pac-Man, breaking a Guinness World Record in the process for the ‘largest playable game projection’.

Pac-Man screen world's biggest projection

At 2,219 metres squared (7,280 feet squared), London’s Millenium Mill building became the screen on which presenters Rachel Riley and Jason Bradbury broke the record, using a specially-made Pac-Man controller.

The Gadget Show will be broadcasting the projection on 9 December as part of its 250th episode, which means no video yet.

A similar stunt was done earlier this year in Brazil, when a Sao Paolo building became the world’s largest arcade machine, giving passers-by the chance to play classics including Pac-man, Tetris and Space Invaders using iPads:

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures‘ is to be released next March for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS.
