Sony Takeover OXO Tower for PS4 Launch Stunt

By on Thursday, November 14, 2013

With Sony and Microsoft locked in a gritty battle for sales of their new consoles – the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – the reward for raising the profile of either product is potentially massive. To try and gain an edge in this conflict and make sure that nobody (in London at least) is unaware of the upcoming launch of the PS4, Sony have taken over the OXO Tower, donning it with giant PlayStation symbols.

The landmark, which dominates the South Bank and looms large over the Thames, has been customised by Sony with the renowned symbols from the gaming console’s control pads. These symbols were lit up at 4pm this evening (November 14) and are clearly visible amid the glowing London skyline.

The OXO Tower will keep the symbols until November 30, the release date of the PlayStation 4, but you should expect to see more PlayStation and Xbox related content in the coming weeks as the build up to the big launches approaches!
