Michaelangelo masterpiece recreated using cake sprinkles and marshmallows

To commemorate the 450th anniversary of artist Michaelangelo’s death (and, of course, promote home baking specialists Cake Angels) ‘The Creation of Adam’ has been replicated – using only cake decorations.
The artwork, which features on the ceiling of Rome’s Sistine Chapel, has been reimagined as an actual-size 5.7m by 2.8m ‘edible art’ installation.
The final piece was made entirely out of Cake Angels produce and features more than 10 thousand marshmallows and an estimated half a billion cake sprinkles. It took artist Michelle Wibowo 168 hours to complete – with Michelle admitting to Telegraph journalist Olivia Parker that she worked on it for 12 hours most days and ‘could see sprinkles’ when she closed her eyes.
The Baking of Adam is on display at St Pancras Church on Euston Road, London.
