WE WANT You

A pub brand is recruiting for an alesome (sorry) job in which the lucky candidate gets paid to go to the pub.

Taylor Walker, which owns and runs some of the oldest historic pubs in Britain, is looking for ale aficionados to nominate themselves for the newly created position of official ale tester.

Key requirements for the role include the ability to tell a pale ale from stale ale, an experienced palate and a commitment to going above and beyond in search of the perfect pint.

The successful candidate will be tasked with visiting more than 15 different pubs and tasting a variety of different ales, during an initial three month period.

The role also comes with a generous remuneration package, including a competitive hourly rate, as well as free beer and pub food during working hours.

Speaking about the new role Taylor Walker brand manager, Helen McDermott, said: “We’re definitely not looking for one ‘hop’ wonders for this one. We need bona fide ale adventurers to apply. So if you feel the need for mead, or pray for the perfect pint this is the role for you.”

To apply, aspiring ale testers simply need to record a 30 second video review of an ale of their choice and post the link to: http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/drink/ale-tester/

The story has thus far been picked up by the Daily Star and the Daily Express – results well worth raising a glass to (sorry again).
