Bath Pizza Co is looking for a professional pizza taster

Now, this has got to be the oldest PR trick in the book – pay someone to do a job that is too good to be true, like this professional pizza tester job advert that Bath Pizza Co is currently recruiting for.

The job only requires 2 hours a week of tasting pizza, in return you’ll receive a competitive salary and pizza perks.

The advert (which is here – most articles have linked so this campaign is very good for SEO) states:

“You’ll have a cultured palate and be able to feedback your professional opinion to our head chef and you’ll have the chance to try each of our pizzas and influence our menu. We serve thousands of people every month so ensuring our menu excites and delights our customers will be a key part of this role.”

To top it all off, they’ll even cover your travel costs!

In all in all, this is a well executed, quick and easy PR campaign. I’m sure the goals of the story were to secure wide spread SEO links and to raise brand awareness, both of which have been obtained. The advert has appeared on Stylist, Metro, Miami Herald, Cosmopolitan and UniLad to name a few. I wouldn’t give the campaign high marks for creativity, as I said it’s one of the oldest tricks in the book, but it’s gotten the job done with minimal effort from Bath Pizza Co, so what’s not to like?
