Baywatch for a new generation: The Slow Mo Marathon

By on Friday, May 5, 2017

For those of us old enough (cough, only just!) to remember Baywatch on TV, the iconic slow motion beach run of the opening credits is the stuff of legend.

To celebrate the release of the new Baywatch film featuring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Zac Efron, Paramount hosted the world’s first Slow Motion Marathon in downtown LA.

Alongside some of the cast members, thousands of ‘runners’ took part, recreating the show’s original opening sequence complete theme song ‘I’m Always Here’ to keep participants motivated. Check out the video below to see how it turned out. Spoiler: it’s genuinely amazing.

Big kudos to Droga5 London for coming up with the stunt. It’s such a simple idea but it’s been executed really well and the resulting video is hilarious. Love it!
